PLANE MAKES U-TURN BECAUSE OF CARRYING THE WRONG PASSENGER

- A Tokyo-bound flight, All Nippon Airways, has been forced to return to the Los Angeles International Airport for carrying a wrong passenger

- According to the airline, the pilot made the decision to return to LAX following the discovery, in line with security procedures

- ANA has admitted failure over the incident, and is now trying to find out how the passenger boarded the wrong flight

After flying for about eight hours, a Tokyo-bound flight, All Nippon Airways, has returned to Los Angeles, for carrying a wrong passenger, Punch reports.

The crew reportedly discovered that one of the passengers had boarded the wrong plane, thus causing the pilot to turn the aircraft around.

We gathered that the aircraft had to return to Los Angeles International Airport at 7:33 p.m, after departing at 11:36 a.m.

The development was tweeted live as it unfolded by top American model, Chrissy Teigen, who was on-board the flight.

She wondered why the aircraft was turning around, hours into the journey.

The airline has issued a statement saying that security procedures were what warranted the decision by the pilot to turn around.

ANA admitted that it had failed in the flight, even as it stated that it took pride in customer service.

The airline is now trying to find out how the passenger boarded the wrong flight.

Meanwhile,  the United Kingdom unveiled the world's largest aircraft, Airlander 10, which is part helicopter, part airplane and part airship.

The aircraft was initially made for the US government, but failed defense tests and was returned to the UK.
