MESSI's DAD HOLD MAN CITY TALK

Lionel Messi's father Jorge has opened talks with Manchester City over a move for the Barcelona wizard in 2018, reports the Sun.

Messi had been expected to sign a new contract with Barcelona that would keep him at Camp Nou until 2021, although he has delayed confirming the extension throughout the summer.

If the deal is not penned the Argentine will be a free agent next year, a prospect that has caught the eye of City due to Messi's close relationship with Pep Guardiola and director of football Txiki Begiristain.
